Part 3: Staying connected to friends and family has never been easier. In today’s mobile age however, many people still struggle in staying connected through all of their social media while being mobile. Sure many people can use different applications on their mobiles devices, but this is the reason I am such a fan of the Nokia N900, N920 (N9) and the Nokia Tablet Phone (Maemo/MeeGo) line of devices. But social media isn’t the only way to connect to people, often times friends and family want to know where you are without having to ask and that’s where APRS makes itself very useful. iPhone4 Facetime: What & Why?

Yesterday Apple announced Facetime for the iPhone 4.  Apple claims that this is going to be an open standard, however this is not entirely true. There is already an industry standard for video teleconferencing and that standard is SIP (session initiation protocol). SIP video teleconferencing is built upon H.323 [EDIT] H.263 not Apple’s favorite H.264, which will be used for Facetime…

Ultimate Mobility: Equipment

Being mobile while staying “connected” requires specialized equipment. To the average person, this would mean a smart phone (with tethering), and netbook at the very least. For truck drivers, it might require a lot more, depending on how “connected” you want to be. Sure, I could live with the bare essentials, but if you know me, I have to make sure I have everything, and then some.
